"Lack of sleep looks the same as severe anxiety in the brain

(University of California research)

I suspect most of us have experienced the irritability, lack of energy and physical symptoms which follow a poor nights sleep.  The university of California research linked above found the physical changes in the brain which happen after only one night of sleep deprivation, they found that "The sleep loss makes the anxiety worse which in turn makes it harder to sleep.".

The NHS publishes these 10 tips to beat insomnia which include using a relaxation CD.  I provide all my customers with a relaxation track to use to help sleep and you will see at my customer reviews page that some clients report improvements after 1 session.

Hypnotherapy helps people achieve good quality REM sleep which is needed for our emotional health and therefore can break the vicious circle between anxiety and sleep loss.
